Our current History offer can be found embedded in our Year group overviews, however, we are currently reviewing our History Curriculum, in light of commitment to being an Anti-Racist school. We have decided to go back to the National Curriculum to identify the skills and knowledge we need to focus on to create Historians and ensure our History lessons are full of Historical enquiry, rather than Literacy-based. The first History skill we are developing as a school is how to use sources effectively to stimulate discussion and enquiry. Alongside the development of History skills, we are conducting a piece of work to establish the narrative of the British Isles that is most pertinent to our children. As this strand develops, we will be creating knowledge organisers to demonstrate the long arc of development and complexities of specific aspects. Once these have been developed, they will be shared here.
